Fins board has developed LED baseball field lights for diamonds lit from 25 to 35 metre masts behind home plate and along the foul lines. The design targets the two constraints that decide whether a baseball field is playable after dark: high vertical illuminance so outfielders can track fly balls, and strict glare control so batters can pick up a pitch travelling at 160 kilometres per hour.

The optic uses a dense emitter array with a narrow infield distribution and a wider outfield channel, supplied as separate aiming variants so one fixture type covers the infield, foul territory and outfield. Recessed cells hold the source out of the batter sight line, and aiming tables give pole by pole settings for standard diamond geometry, which shortens commissioning compared with trial and error aiming at night.

At 155 lumens per watt, an 1800W fixture produces 279000 lumens, matching a 3500W metal halide array on the same mast. Thermal design is sized for 45 degrees Celsius ambient, common during summer league play, and an oversized fin stack with NTC derating prevents output loss on still evenings. The housing carries IP66 and IK10 ratings for ball strikes and hail.

Parks departments usually run baseball lighting on a tighter budget than football or soccer grounds, so the range includes smaller fixtures for training diamonds and bullpen areas that do not need competition level output. Using the same optic family across those positions keeps aiming discipline consistent and allows a park to move fixtures between fields if a diamond is reconfigured during a renovation programme.
